Target companies show an ability to generate and sustain high operating margins. They enjoy a strong pricing power, which is typically derived from a market-leading position, but may also come from other intangible assets such as brands, patents, hard to replicate manufacturing process, long-term relationships with clients, or from the criticality of the manufactured goods.
